The Root Control Discs are designed to fit the 1Pot system, the easy2grow kit and the 2Pot extension trays for extending the easy2grow kit.
These discs are black and gold and are placed in the tray under the pot, with the gold side facing upwards. The purpose of the root control disc is to prevent roots from leaving the pot and heading towards the AQUAvalve. They are very effective thanks to the special gold metallic coating.
Please note that even though roots are tender, they have the ability to penetrate concrete, so it is advisable to lift the pot from time to time to see if they have managed to escape the barrier. In such a case, trim the roots with a pair of scissors. This will not harm the plant in any way. Although the discs will last for several seasons, it is advisable to replace the discs at the start of each season; this will prevent the transfer of any disease if present.
