Aloe gel has a lasting and marked moisturizing and nourishing action on the skin, thanks to the polysaccharides it is rich in, increasing the firmness and tone of the epidermis, maintaining the right hydro-lipid balance. The soothing and softening characteristics of aloe juice make it suitable for preventing skin redness and irritation. Exceptional on dry and dehydrated skin.

Marshmallow is a very common plant in Europe that grows in damp places, along canals and ditches; it belongs to the Malvaceae family. The importance of Marshmallow in cosmetic use is mainly related to its content of mucilages, substances characteristic of plant cells which are recognized as having a moisturizing and anti-inflammatory effect on the skin and mucous membranes. These natural polysaccharides, when applied to the skin surface, form a thin, elastic, transparent film with iso-epidermal pH, capable of releasing water to the stratum corneum, giving the skin elasticity and hydration. In unfavorable climatic conditions, the thin film formed by the mucilages dries externally, forming a real hygrometric shield that continues to hydrate the skin surface, hindering dehydration processes. Thanks to the high content of mucilages, Marshmallow extracts are therefore characterized by excellent moisturizing, emollient, and soothing properties. They are therefore ideal ingredients for the preparation of cosmetics suitable for dry, delicate skin prone to redness.

Calendula Officinalis Extract

Calendula (Calendula Officinalis), an herbaceous plant native to North Africa, is rich in flavonoids: it is attributed with emollient, soothing, refreshing, and re-epithelializing properties. It is one of the most widely used medicinal plants in cosmetics for its ability to promote cell regeneration, as well as for its corrective activity at the level of tissue microcirculation. In fact, it stimulates epidermal turnover, favoring the production of collagen. Finally, Calendula extracts improve the hydration balance of the epidermis and stimulate blood flow, making the skin more elastic and resistant to mechanical and chemical irritation.
